silksack have recently teamed up with Aranya – a fair trade organisation in Bangladesh to produce the silksack bags using naturally dyed silk.

ARANYA is a micro-enterprise, which has revived the traditional process and skills of using natural dyes. Over the past 25 years Aranya has established itself as one of the foremost organizations in the field of natural dyes with a standardised range of 30 colour fast eco-friendly and non-pollutant dyes using pigments from indigenous raw materials. Aranya has trained hundreds of craftspeople, weavers, dyers and printers across Bangladesh and continues to promote these skills through training workshops in the UK, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Nepal and Malaysia. Committed to a shared partnership with artisans Aranya guarantees fair wages and support services like credit, medical care etc. Aranya is a member of IFAT - International Federation of Alternative Trade.
